For inquiry, we made a family tree with our families with everybody but past the grandparents. We asked our parents where they are from and put that on our family tree. Here is my family tree.

Ronald McDonald Foundation

For inquiry, we learned about different charities and then we chose any charity and create a poster about it. I chose Ronald McDonald House because I have something wrong with my arm and they flew me up to the Starship Hospital and I stayed at the McDonald house. Here is the poster that I created.

Here is my poster

This is Just to Say

For literacy, we learned about an old poem called This is Just to Say by William Carlos Williams. We learned about the structure of the poem and what it was really about. We replaced some of the words. Try to figure out what words I changed?

This is the original poem

This is Just to Say
By William Carlos Williams

I have eaten
The plums in
The icebox

And which
You were
Probably
Saving
For breakfast

Forgive me
They were
Delicious
So sweet
And so cold

And this is my version

This is Just to Say, Damien
By Damien

I have eaten
The mints
That was in
The mints box

And which
You where
Probably
Saving
For an occasion

Forgive me
They were
so fruity
and so yummy

Thanks for reading. Keep posted for my next post.

See Ya!!!!!

For literacy, we had to learn about food waste and answer a few questions and create a menu about food waste. Here is the slide with the questions.

And here is a google sheet on my menu with reducing waste.

Romero Britto - Picture Perfect Portrait

Hello Bloggers!

Since it is the start of the year, the teachers want to learn a bit about us so they made us make a portrait that tells a bit about ourselves. The portraits that the class made was based on a famous artist named Romero Britto. Have you heard of him or seen any of his work?

Here is a picture of my perfect portrait.

Now look at a portrait from Romero Britto

Stare and compare, mine is way better than his portrait-like actual!

Stay posted for my next post and thanks for reading my post.

Bike Waste

Waste

For literacy at school, we are looking into different types of waste. So I chose to look into bike waste as I love biking and wanted to see what happens to the bikes when they break or get old.

Looking at photos from the bike yards in Bejing, we are not reusing enough of the parts of the bikes that are claimed to be broken but most are still in average condition and could be restored and repaired to go back up for sale. The bike seats can be sewn back together and the mud-guards can be refurbished to go back up for sale. The cogs and the chain can get soaked in oil and will work perfectly. All we need to do is take off the parts that we could use and put the part that we can't use in the dump.

So in conclusion, if all of the bike manufacturers could reuse old and abandoned bikes to turn them into delivery bikes for pizza companies or road bikes for cheap and that would reduce bike waste in Bejing and China.
