The Killer Clown
For literacy we had to do a practice our e-asttle on a prompt, I heard a whisper but nothing was there. This is my practice story, please give me feedback so I can prepare for my actual test. Enjoy!!!
My Story
One day there were 3 boys in the basement, Lucas, the leader and the brave one and the one that owns the basement, so his house, Liam, the shy and nervous one and Will, the loud and outrageous one. The boys were just watching movies like normal teens until Lucas’s mum wakes up hearing them up at 4:00 am watching movies. So the boys are made to go for a bike ride where ever the road takes them. The boys decide to go to the park across the street. “Let’s go in that shed and see what’s in there” Lucas exclaimed. “Sure, what’s the worst that could happen”.
The boys pull out their flashlights and sneak around in case someone is there. With the wind blowing across their ears, Liam hears a laugh from one of the horror movies they were watching. “Did you guys hear that laugh. I think it came from in that locked door you know, with the crowbar beside it. I think we should leave and go somewhere else” Liam told the other 2.
“Nah, let’s see what is inside,” Lucas said with pride. Lucas grabs the crowbar and smashes open the door. It wasn’t the nicest room ever, but it was in a creepy shed.
“Look, it’s a clown mask,” Will said, pointing at the mask.
“There is also guns and knives in this closet” Lucas examined, “I think whoever hid this, doesn’t want us here and find all of this stuff” Suddenly, a balloon rises from the sewer in the gutter outside, the boys shine the flashlight and there is a clown, waiting for us to see him.
“Ruuunnnnn” Liam screamed. The boys gapped it out of the creepy shed trying to outrun the killer clown. Lucas has a quick look behind him while the sun rises upon the youngsters. The clown turns around and vanishes back into the cold darkness of evil. “I think that clown was looking for this” while Will is pulling the clown mask out of his pocket.
“You seriously took the mask from out of the room, but thankfully you did because we need to find out what it can do.
“We can test it out tomorrow but for now, we should head home and tell our parents but keep the mask at my house. My bedroom in the basement is way more hidden than your guy’s house” Lucas told them. Will hands the mask to Lucas and the kids jump on their bikes and head home. But later that night the clown appears from Lucas’s bedroom/basement scouting for the mask.
The clown smashes through the window and wakes Lucas up. Lucas grabs the mask and puts it on before the clown can grab it. Abruptly, the clown starts to get sucked into the mask, but with the knife in his hand, he tries to stab the knife into Lucas but the mask gave him balls of steel, so the knife bounces of him and the clown starts saying to Lucas “soon an army will come for that mask and then all the children in the world will bowl down at the clowns feet” the clown says trying to scare him but again, he is the brave one, nothing scares him. The clown fully gets sucked into the mask and Lucas rips the mask of his very head.
He calls Liam and William to come over and together they call the police and they investigate the shed while the 3 BFFs put the mask in a woodchipper and “terrifying” clown returns. The cops didn’t find anything but illegal guns and knives. The End!!!!

Wearable Arts
For inquiry, we have been learning about waste and recycling plastic. I did a Maori costume that I did with Kobe and Riley. This is our speech.
Did you know that it takes 200 years for just one straw to break down, just one?
What will you do now if you go to a restaurant and they give you a straw with a glass? You don’t even need it, you can just drink out of the glass!
Straws are an unnecessary part of society.
Businesses are starting to make a change. McDonald’s, New World and Countdown are all doing their bit to reduce the waste.
The Maori have a strong connection to our land, they call it Kaitiakitanga. It was their duty to protect and keep the land healthy and prosperous.
Our art piece represents the Maori connection to the land, showing the traditional dress of a piupiu, but made with straws. The ‘waste’ band is made of single-use plastic bags.
Lots of places are realizing that if we do a little thing, it will make a big difference in the environment.
What little thing will you do?
Geometry Evidence
For term one math we have been learning about geometry. Here is a slide about geometry.
Themes and Narratives
Hello Readers,

Vocabulary BITSP
Vocabulary List
Forlorn - Ch.8
Alone and sad.
The boy was smaller than Bruno and was sitting on the ground with a forlorn expression.
At home, all forlorn and sad.
Enunciate - Ch.8
Word does not exist in the book.
Disdain- Ch.8
Unworthy in front of someone
'I'm twelve but he's only nine,' said Gretel, looking at her brother with disdain.
I was disdain in front of the Queen.
Inconsolable - Ch.8
Heartbroken
(of a person or their grief) not able to be comforted or alleviated.
(His departure had come about very suddenly and there had been a lot of shouting between Father and Mother about it late at night, but he was gone, that was for sure, and he wasn't coming back; Gretel was inconsolable.)
I was inconsolable on the floor.
Appalled - Ch.8
Shocked at something.
Bruno looked appalled.
I was appalled by my performance.
Unaccustomed - Ch.8
Used to something.
Shmuel smiled too and the two boys stood awkwardly together for a moment, unaccustomed to being on the same side of the fence.
I was not unaccustomed to the new laws.
Strode - Ch.9
Taking long strides while walking.
Lieutenant Kotler still strode around in his black boots as if there was no one in the whole world of any more importance than him, and when he wasn't with Father he was standing in the driveway talking to Gretel while she laughed hysterically and twirled her hair around her fingers, or whispering alone in rooms with Mother.
I strode across the basketball court.
Evidence- Ch.9
Somethings that could help find a criminal or find something out.
'He did come to harm, Matthias,' insisted Grandmother. 'Take a look at him for your evidence.'
I have found heaps of evidence at the crime scene.
Despite - Ch.9
Outrage
contemptuous treatment or behaviour; outrage.
'Don't be stupid,' said Gretel, despite the fact that she had been told time and time again that she was not to call her brother stupid.
He had cut his leg despite his brother caused it.
Nook - Ch.9
A little desk in the corner of the room.
There was no point in doing any exploring inside. After all, this wasn't like the house in Berlin, which he could just about remember had hundreds of nooks and crannies, and strange little rooms, not to mention five floors if you counted the basement and the little room at the top with the window he needed to stand on tiptoes to see through.
I have a nook in the corner of my room.
Personification
Walking across the footpath, my feet disappearing every step I take, the clouds crying, getting more and more hostile by the second. The sky turning grey and crying more and more.
The clouds striding angrily towards me. Everyone avoiding him, all inside, with a hot chocolate and watching a movie with the family.
I make a brand new friend. He had raisins as eyes, a carrot a nose and raisins also as a mouth. In fact, he is was my only friend until he melted to water, cooked carrot and raisins.
Please leave a comment below on what you think my story is about.

Frozen Adventures
Frozen Adventures
Walking on the solid ice sheets, breaking up like snapping chocolate.
Giant cracks in the floor like there is a million hydroslides in one theme park. Thousands of ice chunks floating like boats, disintegrating little bit by little bit.
Looking at a different area is a blanket covering the mountains. The polar bears are jumping from ice chunk to ice chunk. The ice chunks are huge arctic leaps.
In conclusion, Antarctica is melting because of global warming. We can stop this by buying more eco-friendly items; re-usable bags for shopping, eco phone cases and use reusable coffee mugs.

Reflection
This is my reflection on my goals that I chose at the end of last year.
For my reading, I have been reading The Boy in The Striped Pajamas. The book is about a kid called Bruno and he moves houses in the country close to a concentration camp
In my writing, I have spent way too much time planning and not enough time writing. So next time I am going to start my writing.
In maths this term, we are focusing on geometry. We have been drawing on isometric paper a shape we makeup, we look at the side view, top view and front view and then we would turn the different views into 2d views.
